Wilson brings 20 years of perspective to her clients’ public relations programs. Wilson founded VisiTech PR in 1998 and has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in technology and marketing to elevate her clients’ PR campaigns to attention-getting levels. She is known for her strategic insights that keep client PR programs fresh and on the cutting edge.
Besides PR, her interests are sparked by the technologies that drive entertainment, the communications networks that deliver content, and the software that drives business. Wilson’s experience includes telecom, cable, wireless, satellite, networking, enterprise, software, computer hardware, security and pretty much every vertical market that purchases technology. She has worked on global PR programs for major technology companies such AST Computers, Samsung, Microchip, Sun Microsystems, AIWA, Polycom, and NAMCO. She also enjoys working with hot, emerging companies such as all of VisiTech PR’s current client base.
Wilson speaks on public relations, social media, leadership, entrepreneurship and technology topics at industry events and conferences. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in business, with an emphasis in Marketing, from San Diego State University (SDSU), a certificate in public relations from Long Beach State University and graduated from the entrepreneurial masters program of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT.)
Kendra Westerkamp, Vice President
Westerkamp brings 13 years of high-tech PR agency experience to VisiTech PR. Her work is dedicated to demonstrating her passion for strategy, creativity and delivering optimal results for her clients. As a result, Westerkamp has won a number of prestigious PR awards, including her recognition as a “Top Tech Communicator” by PRSourceCode, an accolade for individual achievement given by the tech journalist community.
Throughout her career, Westerkamp has led global PR programs for an extensive list of technology companies and organizations including Polycom, Thomson MICROMEDEX, Samsung, Fraunhofer IIS, NAMCO, The Cable Center, Aurora Networks, American Roamer, Edgeware, Envivio, ThinPrint/Cortado, MessageGate, Wilson Electronics, ConceptWave, Hubspan, Xceive, SIOS and Net Insight.
With a focus on developing and leading sophisticated PR programs, Westerkamp successfully leverages her B2B and B2C experience in a number of industries including telecom, cable, mobile/wireless, IT enterprise, semiconductors and components and networking as well as associated vertical markets such as education, government, healthcare, finance, energy, retail and supply chain/manufacturing. Westerkamp has regularly secured client coverage with publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, BusinessWeek, CNET and The Register.
Glenda Catron, Account Representative
Catron’s work is driven by her passion to always bring a fresh and creative approach. She thrives on finding ways to insert clients into the latest hot news topics, with a strong focus in the cable, telecommunications and cloud-services industries.
Prior to joining VisiTech PR, Catron was with Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, where she executed day-to-day public relations for the agency’s Microsoft account, focusing on corporate communications, Information Technology, Investor Relations, Silicon Valley image, and Human Resources. Achievement highlights include, co-developing and leading new internal communications process and working with Microsoft’s IT team and CIO on publicity activities, such as securing placement in CIO’s annual Hall of Fame. In addition, Catron secured placement in a variety of dailies, national business and tech publications/blogs including: Seattle Times, New York Times, CNET, ZDNet, Time, CIO, CRN, USA Today, and BusinessWeek.
Catron’s experience also includes her work with Global Spectrum, a facility-management company, where she designed and implemented public relations and marketing for a variety of family-oriented events including, the Larimer County Fair, Sesame Street Live! in addition to various sporting events and concerts.
Jazz Gandhi, Account Representative, UK
Jazz Gandhi is an established PR executive with more than a decade of experience in B2B and B2C technology with a strong focus in the telecom and mobile markets. Prior to VisiTech PR, she has worked at a number of larger agencies, including Bite and Weber Shandwick Technology, and has experience managing and executing global PR plans to meet key business objectives and strategies.
Gandhi’s experience includes working on a number of high profile clients, including Samsung Electronics and Mobile, LogicaCMG, Toshiba Mobile and Laptops and Sony Ericsson. With strong expertise in European markets, she brings an enthusiasm for entertainment enabling technologies, a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise in delivering highly polished PR campaigns. She effectively produces and implements communications plans and strategies that support the business goals of her clients, and proves her drive and ability to continually go above and beyond to gain measurable results.
Moe Lokat, Account Representative, UK
Moe is a former journalist, and has since acquired almost a decade of PR experience. He specializes in B2B technology and has worked at some of London’s leading agencies, helping high-profile technology companies such as Symantec, Sun Microsystems, Samsung Electronics (International), and Blinkx develop successful communications strategies and deliver solid media campaigns. His strengths lie in building effective relationships with clients and key media as well as translating and effectively communicating technical, corporate and issues-based messages.
His background in journalism means he has a natural instinct for news, and his understanding of news value and content creation are key components of our clients’ media focus.
Moe graduated from De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) degree in English/Media before completing his Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at the same institution.
Ronja Hartmann, Account Representitive, Germany
With more than a decade of experience in global public relations, Hartmann has strong media relationships with technology journalists in Germany and across Europe. Hartmann combines strategic and conceptual creativity with practical solutions to create customized campaigns for promoting clients in a powerful and efficient manner.
As a seasoned high-tech PR veteran, Hartman has a broad range of experience in technology related to IP, networking, storage, enterprise software, multimedia, digital video, DRM, wireless, web, IT security and consumer/digital lifestyle products.
Before joining VisiTech PR, Hartmann held a senior PR position with DivX in Germany. In this role, she led and executed all communications strategy and PR campaigns for EMEA. While at DivX, she managed four PR agencies. Her experience at DivX gives her a true understanding of PR management from the corporate perspective. During her career, Hartmann managed PR programs for several major brands and exciting technology companies including Siemens Communications, SMC Networks, Adaptec, Allied Telesyn, Great Plains, Equiinet, WeSpot, BlackSpider, Vyou, muvee, C-Technologies and Anoto.
Julia Fedorova, Account Representative
Fedorova brings extensive international experience focusing in high-tech public relations to the VisiTech PR team.Prior to her work at VisiTech PR, she executed PR campaigns and projects at one of the top five technology agencies in the Czech Republic. With a focus in B2B and B2C technologies, Fedorova has a deep understanding of the trends and issues within various sectors including, IT, security, cable, telecom, mobile, print and document management and cloud computing.
With a strong background in driving PR programs and working with clients to meet their business objectives, Fedorova has generated results for a number companies throughout her career including, Microsoft, Motorola, SITRONICS Telecom Solutions, Canon, Xerox, CheckPoint Software Technologies, AVG Technologies, Edgeware, ThinPrint, Verecloud, SIOS and American Roamer.
Fedorova holds a master’s degree in International Politics and Diplomacy and a bachelor degree in International Trade, both earned at the University of Economics, Prague in the Czech Republic. Fedorova is fluent in Slovakian, German and Czech.
Susannah Vasu, Account Representitive
Vasu’s experience in a range of bi-coastal media and entertainment ventures is key to her role at VisiTech PR. With a passion for public relations, she is dedicated to going above and beyond for her clients, cultivating industry relationships, and tracking trends.
Prior to her career at VisiTech PR, Vasu thrived in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles with a focus on film and television project development, production, and literary management for Home Box Office’s original series programming (such as Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, and Big Love), EMJAG Productions, and Management 360.
Vasu began her public relations career at LaForce & Stevens in New York, where she specialized in events and publicity for clients in the hospitality, fashion, and beauty sectors such as Banana Republic, ELLEgirl, and Rimmel, to name a few. Following this, she coordinated new business advertising for Grey Healthcare Group.
Vasu studied English and Sociology at the University of Vermont. She first gained her passion for communications, media and technology from her education at Connecticut and London schools.
Shannon Paulk, Account Representative
Throughout her career, Paulk has become an expert in media relations, media research and analysis, conceptualization, execution of PR tactics, creative writing, digital strategies and B2B product positioning for her clients. Her focus at VisiTech PR includes providing counsel and implementation of strategic plans for clients in the wireless and cable industries.
Prior to VisiTech, Paulk worked at LBi in New York where she developed, conceptualized and implemented social media and online publicity campaigns for Universal Pictures and Universal Studios Hollywood.
Paulk was also a member of Weber Shandwick’s global technology practice where she worked with a diverse portfolio of consumer and technology clients, including Actimize, Adap.tv, Corbis, Credit Suisse, Capgemini, Capgemini Financial Services, Capgemini Advisor Relations, GreenLight, Powermat, VeriSign Naming and VeriSign Consumer Security. Paulk has worked on global campaigns and secured prominent coverage in The Wall Street Journal, Billboard, USA Today, The Washington Post, ABC News, CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes, tipB and Best Buy Mobile Magazine.
Paulk holds a B.A. in Journalism and a B.A. in Communication from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Kim Peterson, Account Representative
Peterson brings both agency and nonprofit experience to VisiTech PR. She always strives to exceed client expectations by providing creative strategies, thorough written pieces and strong media placements.
Prior to VisiTech PR, Peterson was the community relations director for a community action agency in Southwest Ohio. Throughout her career, she’s gained solid experience in consumer public relations, B2B marketing and media relations.
Peterson received her BA in Strategic Communication from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Shortly after graduating, she participated in an advertising practicum in London, England, creating an advertising campaign for Foot Locker International.
Heather Smith, Account Representative
Smith’s media and analyst expertise and industry knowledge is key in her role at VisiTech PR. She specializes in developing strong industry relationships on behalf of clients, generating results and coverage that exceed client expectations and meet business objectives.
With a passion for technology and a dedication to exceeding client expectations, Smith has executed sophisticated PR programs for companies such as Fraunhofer IIS, Edgeware, Net Insight, and Telenor Connexion. She has secured coverage for clients in publications such as Cable and Satellite International, Videography, Post Connected World and Light Reading.
Smith’s experience prior to VisiTech includes PR programs specializing in Web 2.0 technologies. In addition, she coordinated marketing and communications for a nonprofit with the AmeriCorps VISTA.
Smith holds a BS in Mass Communications with a Public Relations Emphasis, a BA in Spanish and a minor in International Studies from Black Hills State University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication from the Media, Film and Journalism Department of the University of Denver as a Provost Scholar.
