BitTitan Collaborates with Seattle’s Fastest-Growing Companies to Bring Innovative Recruitment Strategies to Thriving Job Market

Local companies join forces to launch Seattle Startup Recruit Week, driving the collaboration forward to win area’s top talent

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Aug 6, 2015 BitTitan, the cloud enablement provider, today announced it is one of 30 Seattle-area companies that have come together to create a unique and successful recruitment model to attract top talent to keep pace with company growth. Instead of competing for high-quality applicants, local companies are collaborating to share recruitment resources and intelligence. As part of the collaboration, BitTitan will be one of twelve participating companies hosting the first annual Seattle Startup Recruit Week (SSRW), to further support the group’s initiative.

“Doubling our revenues each year since its inception, quickly finding and recruiting the best talent to fit our company culture and required skillsets is no small feat – especially in a burgeoning job market like Seattle,” said Darci Lee, director of talent at BitTitan. “We’ve already hired 40 candidates since January and are looking to fill 90 more positions in the next 6-12 months to keep up with this success. The unique recruiting initiative we have with other local growth companies is helping us reach our hiring goals.”

BitTitan and companies spanning across the Seattle metro area meet regularly and work together to identify top candidates and pass along resumes for open positions for one another. The companies also share tips and best practices on recruiting staff. During SSRW, companies will host open houses for networking and in-person resume reviews, allowing jobseekers to get a feel for each companies’ culture and open positions while increasing the candidate pool participating companies have to choose from.

“Open houses are a really unique experience, letting job seekers meet and speak with so many key people within a company,” said Shaun Malgarin, BitTitan project manager and former open house attendee. “There are plenty of management and HR staff on hand to speak to and provide insights on how the work environment could help someone thrive, along with furthering their career and experience. Attending one of BitTitan’s past events really highlighted the people at BitTitan, and their excitement rubbed off on me. It feels like I had a head start in the interview process.”

SSRW takes place starting Monday, August 17, with events happening throughout the week. Participating companies include EnergySavvy, Avvo, SimplyMeasured, Authorit, Flowplay, Gratify, Indeed, Realself, Spare5, STASH, Porch and BitTitan. Further details and company event dates and times are available at www.seattlestartuprecruitweek.com.

BitTitan’s SSRW event, Coding & Cocktails, will be held at 3933 Lake Washington Blvd NE, Suite 200, Kirkland, WA 98033 on Thursday, August 20 from 4:30 to 7:30p.m.

Alpha brings the latest broadband security products to ABTA 2015

Security equipment delivers reliable energy solutions to support Latin America’s cable and broadband network expansion

BELLINGHAM, WA – Alpha Technologies, a worldwide designer and manufacturer of advance power systems, today announced it will showcase its broad range of security products, from enclosures to internal and external security devices, and its industry-leading power supplies at ABTA 2015 taking place in São Paulo, Brazil, August 4-6.

Cable and broadband networks in the Latin American region, including Brazil, are experiencing significant growth, resulting in investment in new equipment. Protecting that investment against vandalism and theft is an important industry concern.

When equipment is not properly protected, it means some of Brazil’s 20 million pay-tv subscribers could go without service while providers are left working overtime to make repairs.

Taking a proactive approach in protecting equipment and deterring problems is more cost effective than to replacing or repairing it after an incident.

To address this industry need, Alpha Technologies (booth F5) will demonstrate a wide range of security products to help deter or prevent equipment tampering, including:

  • Enclosures, including the high security PWE-3 HSHP – engineered for broadband powering applications, featuring interior latches and hinges, 2-point latch locking system, welded tabs and a flush surface design to minimize external vulnerabilities.
  • Internal anti-theft devices, including door tamper-switch intrusion alarms for remote status monitoring and reinforced security bars for battery trays and power supplies.
  • External anti-theft devices, including a perimeter surveillance camera with mounting bracket and PoE insertion kit.
  • Enclosure security bar kit with heavy-duty reinforced steel construction, swing-away hinged design and enclosed padlock housing, and generator security bars.

As broadband networks continue to expand in the region, network power reliability becomes increasingly important. Alpha’s industry-leading power solutions can withstand extreme weather conditions and improve energy efficiency in the outside plant.

At the show, Alpha Technologies will feature the following rugged and reliable broadband power products:

  • XM3-HP, an uninterruptible power supply featuring leading-edge efficiency ratings, enhanced protection levels and the tightest output voltage regulation ever offered.
  • XM2-300HP, a compact broadband power supply known for its small footprint, lightweight and highly efficient 300 Watts of power; suitable for powering traditional loads as well as sensitive electronics.
  • Telecommunication-grade indoor UPS FlexPoint Series1208-F, 1215 and 1232, Alpha’s fiber power solutions.

Alpha Technologies will also showcase a new solution that enables deployment of Wi-Fi and other peripheral hardware along the outside plant. And the OutBack Power FLEXpower ONE is a compact, integrated, easy-to-install, pre-wired system for renewable energy applications with small to medium power requirements. The FLEXpower ONE features an advanced design that delivers pure sine wave power. Other items on display include Alpha batteries, surge protection equipment and transponders.
