For the first time, Android users can print documents directly to network printers in the enterprise without having to revert to a public cloud, such as Google Cloud Print. Documents stay fully SSL-encrypted from the device to the printer.

Cortado Corporate Server is the leading enterprise mobility solution when it comes to productivity. Without the use of additional apps, Cortado Corporate Server has offered fully integrated, secure access to documents in the enterprise, as well as mobile printing for iPhones and iPads for a number of years. The next productivity milestone is mobile printing with Android smartphones and tablets to network printers.

This is made possible by integrating Android Print. By embedding Android’s print system within Cortado Corporate Server, users can print to any printer assigned to them by their administrator. Printing works with any Android smartphone or tablet, and from any app with an integrated print function. To start a print job, the user doesn’t even have to be in the office. This makes it possible, for example, to initiate a print job while on the way to work to save time. With SSL-encryption, print jobs stay secure all the way from the mobile device to the printer. Furthermore, print jobs are not processed via the public cloud, but on-premise within the company and behind its secure firewall.

Additionally, Personal Printing technology, which is integrated into Cortado Corporate Server, can also be used. This ensures that printing only starts once the user authenticates via a QR-code scan with their mobile device at a printer of their choice. This prevents printouts and sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands.
