Android in the Enterprise: The One Feature Missing

Android is the leading operating system in enterprises, accounting for 65% of business smartphones and 52% of tablets in Q2 (Strategy Analytics). Despite this prevalence, there’s a very basic and common task enterprises haven’t optimized for Android.

Printing.

Printing with Android requires downloading a third-party app and reverting to the public cloud. This makes printing complex, time-consuming and unsecure. IT admins need a means to seamlessly enable and assign Android users to print directly to any network printer, allowing print jobs to stay securely on-premise behind the company firewall.

This is possible with leading enterprise mobility solution Cortado Corporate Server. With Androids print system integrated in the solution, Cortado Corporate enhances security and productivity for today’s enterprises.

Seamless Office 365 Email and Data Migrations Now Available in China

The rapid adoption of Microsoft Office 365 (O365) by local Chinese companies and multinational corporations is a key opportunity for the local channel to capitalize on its activations and adoptions. In order to do so, local resellers need the right tools to make migrations quick and easy.

This is now possible as BitTitan, the cloud enablement provider, recently formed a partnership with 21Vianet, the official operator of O365 and Azure in mainland China.

The partnership will help drive the adoption of O365 and the cloud in the region. Through BitTitan’s solution MigrationWiz, BitTitan will enable the local channel to provide seamless mailbox and data migration for their customers. This allows them to focus on their business, versus worrying about wasting resources and losing files. Partners can also lower overall project costs and time, easily scale to the needs of their customers, receive five-star customer service, and remove the barriers that often prevent a company from moving to the cloud.

This partnership extends BitTitan’s global footprint and is one of many recent global wins for the company. BitTitan already works with some of the largest distributors in the U.S., Canada, LATAM and Europe. This includes Tech Data, Synnex, WestCoast, Nexys and Intcomex.

10GbE Optical LAN Capability on Display at BICSI Winter

Thanks to the demand for high-bandwidth applications, enterprises need a LAN that can support the “connected everything” era. The traditional copper LANs simply can’t keep up with this.

Luckily, Tellabs’ fiber-based solution, Optical LAN, delivers the bandwidth that companies need today and in the future. To support this, Tellabs announced this week that it is demonstrating its 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Optical LAN capability at BICSI Winter.

Currently available in Tellabs’ lab, the 10GbE Optical LAN will provide symmetrical capacity of 10Gbps in upstream and downstream directions. The company will enable a migration path to 10GbE that minimizes impact to existing users and leverages the existing architecture.

Read more about the 10GbE demonstration here. If you’re at BICSI this week, be sure to check out Tellabs’ demonstration at booth #516.

An Industry-first Enterprise Archive Migration Solution

Historically, many enterprises have hit significant roadblocks when moving to a cloud-based system, such as Office 365. This is because moving archive folders from on-premise solutions was a painful process. The sheer quantity of data made the process difficult, expensive and time-consuming, sucking up resources many companies did not have.

Today, this roadblock has been eliminated. IT change automation expert BitTitan and enterprise archive extraction leader Nuix announced a partnership for the industry’s first and only solution to automate the entire enterprise archive migration process and make the move to the cloud easy.

By joining forces, BitTitan and Nuix make what once took months only take a matter of weeks. The entire process can be done offline, requiring little computing power or impact to existing systems. On top of that, it comes at a fraction of the cost.

How to Print with iOS from Any Windows Sessions

The fact that iPads and iPhones are widely used amongst mobile workers isn’t new. While so many workers have been and continue to use iOS devices, at the same time, they’re often using Windows. Until now, they were not able to perform one of the most basic and common of tasks – printing with an iOS device from a Windows session.

This week, enterprise mobility leader Cortado unveiled ThinPrint 10.6 to overcome this barrier. ThinPrint is THE solution for everything print related. The newest version includes ThinPrint Mobile Print. It is the first and only solution to enable users to print from iOS devices with every Windows session and any Windows-based virtual desktop, such as Citrix Receiver and VMware Horizon.

This shows that regardless of the OS or the platform, Cortado provides mobile workers and employees the freedom to choose the solution that best fit their needs. Full details on ThinPrint 10.6 are available here.
