Cortado Supports Apple’s New Enterprise Strategy
Mobile business apps, like those just introduced by IBM and Apple, can be managed entirely through the Cortado Corporate Server and combined with native apps like Mail and Safari
(Berlin/Denver, 18 December 2014) Cortado, maker of the enterprise mobility solution Cortado Corporate Server, has announced that it fully supports Apple’s new enterprise strategy. “Made-for-Business” apps, like those coming from the partnership between Apple and IBM, can now be managed and distributed via Cortado Corporate Server without app wrapping.
Since iOS 7, Apple has been investing heavily in secure enterprise technology for its iOS products. These functions were expanded further with iOS 8, with added focus on the native user experience and the simplicity of the administration. Since the beginning, Cortado has focused on supporting these native management functions instead of complex app wrapping. With Cortado, however, the integration of the Apple application management functions with the preexisting, usually Microsoft Windows Server-based IT infrastructure is the first priority.
Cortado makes it possible to build business containers from mobile business apps, the Safari browser and the native e-mail without significant additional administration effort and while meeting the highest security requirements.
“With the new mobile business apps, Apple continues to consistently follow its course of establishing mobile productivity in enterprises natively at the operating system level,” said Kristin Montag, product manager Cortado Corporate Server. “Since we also fully rely on the Apple-designed functions without app wrapping, enterprises can start using the new mobile business apps with our solution immediately without great expense and without any delay.”
More information on building a secure business container with iOS 8 can be found in the white paper Enterprise Mobility with iOS 8 – The New Business Functions of the iPhone and iPad.
