New ThinPrint Hardware Simplifies Printing in Branch and Home Offices

ThinPrint Hub allows simple integration of printers with centralized printing infrastructure

(DENVER, 12 April 2016) ThinPrint, provider of the world’s leading print management software, now offers its own hardware. The ThinPrint Hub, which is available for sale from today, was created for companies to easily integrate branch offices and home offices into the central IT infrastructure. In conjunction with the ThinPrint Engine software, the ThinPrint Hub delivers centralized print management, highly-optimized print data transfer, and secure encrypted delivery of print jobs, even when printing over the Internet. Windows print servers in branch offices are no longer required.

More than 25,000 companies from all industries and of all sizes, including a growing number of service providers, rely on print management software from ThinPrint. In order for organizations to benefit from central print management, the free ThinPrint Client was previously installed on local Windows print servers or PCs in branch and home offices. The ThinPrint Hub now makes it easier to rollout the ThinPrint Client which is preinstalled on the hardware. This makes it the best option to easily integrate remote printers located in branch and home offices.

“Admins can now integrate printers in branch offices, without having to leave their desk at headquarters,” said Thorsten Hesse, ThinPrint CPO. “The ThinPrint Hub is sent to the branch office, can be installed by any employee thanks to its plug & play design and can be remotely managed by the admin”.

Thanks to the ThinPrint Hub, Windows print servers in branch offices are no longer required. Print data transmission is highly optimized thanks to the trusted ThinPrint Engine features such as bandwidth control, compression and streaming. Together with the tracking and reporting features included with the ThinPrint Engine, full control of printing costs and printing behavior is possible.

Security of sensitive data is ensured with SSL-encrypted print data transmission right to the ThinPrint Hub. Because the ThinPrint Hub initiates the print connection from the client side, network printers in masked networks, including virtually all branch offices, can be securely integrated with the central IT infrastructure. This makes ThinPrint Hub the perfect addition to virtual desktop environments, particularly for organizations that connect users via Citrix NetScaler Gateway, Microsoft Remote Desktop Gateway, or VMware PCoIP.

The ThinPrint Hub is compatible with all network printer models and manufacturers. It is the only solution of its kind to work with an unlimited number of network printers. Additionally, up to four USB printers per ThinPrint Hub can be used as network printers.

Feedback from projects during the beta phase of the ThinPrint Hub has been consistently positive.

“The ThinPrint Hub is so simple to setup and configure that you can have optimised branch office printing up in a flash – all this for less than half the cost of a PC too!” said a pleased Daniel Mar, Principal Consultant at Infront Consulting Group.

“Our experience of the ThinPrint Hub has been overwhelmingly positive.” said Richard Johnson, Viatek Group. “The device is easy to setup and the ability to add as many network printers as required allows us to drastically simplify our on-site print management.”

The ThinPrint Hub is available worldwide from any of more than 225 ThinPrint partners. The RRP is €229 / $249, a leasing option is available for €7.50 / $8.50 per month.
